How to travel free if you live in London

I live in London and I have a Freedom Pass.

Benefits of owning a Freedom Pass:

Free Travel Across London Buses, all London Underground(Tube) lines.

Elizabeth Line: Free across the entire network.

London Overground: Free on all routes.

DLR: Free on all Docklands Light Railway trains.

Trams: Free on all London tram services.

National Rail Services Standard Class: Free travel on most local train lines within the London Zones 1-6.

Extended Boundaries: Free travel extends to select stations just outside London, including Dartford and Swanley.

Free travel on local buses anywhere in England.

Every year I go to India in winter as London is too cold for me. I travel light and use Bus LS9 from Harrow on the Hill to Cntral Bus station at London Heathrow Airport.

I enjoy travelling. So, I travel whenever I feel like, even if I don't have a company! This is what I did on Saturday 30 May 2026.

Started from North Harrow early morning as I can use freedom pass at any time. Reached Harrow on the Hill bus station. Then reached Hayes and Harlington station using bus SL9. Then on Elizabeth line train to Slough station. Took bus 703 to reach windsor. Travelled totally free in about 1 hr 45 mins Had lunch at MacDonalds Fish burger and cup of cappuccino £6.50. Walked around castle, did not enter it. Took a 40 min round trip on boat till lock gate on the thames for £13.50

Returned by Bus 703 to Heathrow Terminal 5. Then took bus LS9 from Central Bus Station to Harrow before 8pm!
